The Legend
Formerly the advisor to the Uchiha Clan leadership and then becoming the Shogun (after the Fire Country reformation) stemming from his daughter's defeat during the First Great Chakra War. He was the one that convinced his daughter, Uchiha Sango, into marrying the Uchiha Leader's son. He was the one that convinced her to turn Fire Country into a warring state with the annexation of the Wind Country. Through hypnotic suggestion, he made Sango kill her own husband when she wasn't given authority to annex Lightning Country. The grief she felt from killing her own husband caused her to unlock the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Upon seeing the immense power of the Mangekyou Sharingan, he wanted this power for himself. After hearing about Sango's many defeats during the First Great Chakra War, he was infuriated! Word about her public execution reached Fire Country causing Azuma to enter a furious rage. Compounding his daughter's execution and with the reparations forced upon them, Azuma had enough. Using a mass hypnotic suggestion, he suggested to all of the nobles and clan leadership to swear fealty to him. After they did so, he was declared the Great Fire Emperor. His first act as Great Fire Emperor was to instill fear of Chakra Users into the mind of his people. Her urged those with Chakra to either kill themselves or turn themselves in; to which they would be privately executed. He had slayed 80% of the Chakra users in the Fire Country during the Great Purge with the remaining 20% either working alongside The Great Fire Emperor or going into hiding.
